Humanitarian Engineering Course in Lyon, France:

Learning about Humanitarian Action by understanding the different tools used to apply real life interventions, while taking into consideration's the responsibilities and challenges involved in deploying technical innovations. In this class we worked on a case study that helped us understand how people in refugee camps live and what they expeience. From this we cerated our own inn ovation to help while taking the tools we learned such as how to create a stakeholder map. We also did a company visit to "HI"/ Handicap International. They are known for helping people with disabilities that face poverty, conflict and disaster.

I also took a French Language & Cross Cultural course. The French class allowed for many hands-on experience by doing a scavenger hunt in the center of Lyon and visiting a local market to talk to vendors. In our Cross Cultural class I was able to understand and reflect on cross cultural communication, how to efficiently communicate with people around the world and learning different norms, stereotypes, including hearing personal experiences from classmates.

Sustainable Development Goals for Social Innovation Course in Seoul, South Korea

NYU's partnership with Hanyang University allowed students to truly experience a semester abroad with fun trips and interactive classes. For our class we learned about Korea's development in terms of social problems while trying to keep their economic achievements high. We focused on the UN SDGs and social innovation through the use of social innovation with case studies. We also had field trios within Seoul by visiting sites of key innovation cases found in the history of Seoul. Visiting sites such as Sung Soo District which is known as social innovation valley .

Hanyang University allowed for time to explore not just inside the classroom but as well as outside with global peer leaders who helped out by conducting different cultural activities. Such an activities involved a street food tour in a well known area called MyeongDong. While also doing out of the ordinary activities such as skiing and of course enjoying all the cafe with different and unique pastries.
