Peer Advisor at NYU Florence
As a Peer Advisor I would work at the office of Student life, helping out residents with any questions they had and providing any information needed. I went through training to ensure safety, such as how to put out a fire with different fire extinguishers as well as plan events and create safe spaces for students to connect with each other. In this role, I was in charge of conducting activities for the students to be more engaged with the community.
What was the impact? This role trained me to work on my leadership skills as well as be in charge of over 100+ students. While also helping out with weekly events for not just the school but for students. as well. This role allowed me to focus on time management and communication skills.
GLASS Recruiter
As a GLASS Recruiter, I am a representative for the GLASS Program at campus events. During these socializations, I serve as a panelist to provide insight about the what GLASS is and how GLASS has given me countless opportunities. Being a recruiter means having the opportunity to mentor/support new members of the program. As well as providing guidance in answering questions and advice on how to make the most out of the GLASS program.
Being a Recruiter has allowed me to be an advocate for other students, and be a support system for students interested in GLASS.
